There's three things in play here:
1 - IBM i Access Client Solutions
2 - IBM i Access for Windows
3 - 5770XW1, option 1, feature code 5101, IBM i Access Enablement Support

Number 3 is the support which allows the first two to get 5250 sessions.
See also WRKLICINF.

Back in the day an optional program you could load on your machine was
5770XE1. Wasn't needed. All this gave you was an image you could install
IBM i Access for Windows on a new PC by running the install from a folder
share. It also gave you a way for "Check Service Level" to work.
You can remove 5770XE1 from your system and you can still use either 1 or
2 to access your system. It uses 5770XW1 to see if you're licensed for
5250 sessions (and a few other things).
