I assume the programs you recompiled are called from the basic trigger
program.
In this way it is possible to exchange "trigger" programs.
But for exchanging a trigger program that is directly linked with the table,
you need exclusive access to the table.

That's not MY experience.
In my experience, trigger programs are ALWAYS locked (multiply locked,
if the trigger program is shared by many files) by every job that
trips them, and remain so until the job either ends or closes the
triggered
file(s) and does a RCLRSC.
Sounds strange to me because I have literally tens of thousands of
files with triggers all to the same trigger program and have never had
trouble recreating it.
