We've been using AJS heavily, both Production LPAR and R&D LPAR for last 10 years.
Love the product, wish it could do more at times.
Very few enhancements, if any, over last 10 years.
Did you know:
1) IBM did not develop AJS, but Pinnacle Business System.
(C) COPYRIGHT PINNACLE BUSINESS SYSTEMS, INC. 2009.
2) Except for simple Q&A, IBM outsources the support for AJS.
3) The most recent manual for AJS is V5R3.
4) Additional info can be obtained from:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/i/jscheduler/faq/index.html
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/i/jscheduler/resources.html
There is not a single source for all the AJS documentation.
5) Green screen AJS has limited functionality.
Some features (MONMSG for one) only available via OpsNav and/or iNav.

Just an opinion, but my gut feel is that "business partners" tend to be bottlenecks in the sales process when it comes to IBM products. That both IBM and business partners stifle the adoption of IBM i and add-ons in the market place due to a lack of accessibility to consumers.
I think that both IBM and consumers would be better off if IBM were to provide web store-fronts and web services back-ends which business partners could tie into.
Business partner would become ISVs and cloud hosting providers which used IBM hardware and software for foundation purposes. Consumers would have better access to their respective products and services.
I believe this platform needs an amazon.com type interface for ordering hardware and software.
