To clarify this - from my original post - "I have to look at converting
signature images to page segments."
This is not a question about how to put images on PDFs - that was my
other question of last week.
We are not going to change our current process this much - we still need
to have *AFPDS spooled files for printing to local printers - and we are
not going to assume they can print PDF files.
We currently have a Windows VM (used to be an actual machine) that has a
program that converts BMPs to files that can be copied to PF members and
be used to create page segments.
We need to make this a native process, for various reasons.
I don't see this as going through hoops - I know that the first 200
bytes or so are pretty much boiler plate, as are the last 40 or so.
Ah, I see, looking at my post that is not copied here, that you might
think I would be doing all that I posted all the time - actually, no -
that is my learning process. That was my of making a "properly-formed"
internet question!! :)
Thanks
Vern

Vern,
I don't really understand your question. You appear to be going through
hoops to output a signature to a spool file. You could embed a signature in
an HTML file using an <img> element, then transform it to a PDF.
<img src="{{signature}}">
The following embeds a hyperlink and a signature into a PDF:
