Thanks Richard. This was in *preparation *for the backup & IPL.

I eventually replied 'I' to the message because I knew the NFS wouldn't be
backed up. However, whatever process it was prevented BRMS from taking the
system to a restricted state so it did not do the SAVSYS. I didn't find
this out until Wednesday!

Was a system backup running perhaps when trying to unmount ?

If this is the first time this has happened, may be time to IPL.

Another option rather than unmounting is simply omit the IFS folder from
any backups since you can't back up over NFS that I know of.

Couple of random thoughts.

subject: Who has an NFS Mount Allocated?

How would one tell who has an NFS mount allocated?

We have a WIndows server which is mounted as an NFS mount on our IBM i.
Saturday night we encountered a CPFA09E - "Object in use. Object is *N"
when trying to UNMOUNT it.

I checked the usages in i Navigator. Nothing shows. I used a MIMIX
command to display the IFS references. Nothing shows. Neither seems to
report at the directory level.

Calling QP0FPTOS says "The object does have references" but doesn't say
who or what. The details in the print file all show a count of 0.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Gord
