That's good news.
I know that IBM i supports a domain search list like
CFGTCP
12. Change TCP/IP domain information
Domain search list . . . . . . . 'dekko.com dekko-1 corp.dekko.com'

I assume that Windows has some like capability.

And then you just have it in your DNS under both domains.
