Instead of the fat client iNav there's always the web version at

You can also find a command called DSPIFSLCK.

If it's a simple log file you might want to flag it (or it's directory)
with
CHGATR OBJ(...) ATR(*ALWSAV) VALUE(*NO)
Starting with 7.2 IBM really went hog wild with this and excluded a bunch
of directories.
