Over the years I've also run into IFS/Stream file issues when they are
journalled.  Not fun figuring that out as there really are no specific
errors saying the Journalling is the cause.  Years ago working with a
customer we just happen to say "lets turn off journalling as a last resort"
and bingo... things worked again.

This normally happens when Java applications are trying to work with
directories and files that are journalled. When RPG is accessing
files/directories using the IFS APIs I don't believe we ran into issues.

So, what we normally have to do is not journal certain directories that are
used for temporary storage in the IFS.
