I've moved a number of 36's to as400/iseries/i, often with some converting
of code to native (depends upon $$), and most always found it easier to put
the system in native mode and then the menu options and batch processes
still in s36 mode did not have the issue you are hitting with
S36 mode >run a prc > call clp > clp runs strs36prc and halts.
Some of the decision is based on if users and operations is intending to
move to newer code or use what they got.
The switch to native mode does have to be carefully considered.
Btw - if you are calling a clp just to set overrides and call a program, you
can do most commands in the proc.

Subject: Re: Can a S/36 Procedure be run within a CL program within a S/36
process?
Been my experience that a bulk of the older CL out there is obsolete. I'm
talking about those who wrapped every RPG call with a CL simply to do an
OVRDBF or some such thing. There's been a lot of additions to F specs in
RPG since then.
