EMC Data Domain

We have been using DataDomains for backing up multiple IBM i LPars (among others too) for several years with great success. We are now implementing high availability LPARs to our production site, and I would like to have it configured so a primary and standby LPARs have access to the same pool of tapes. I can imagine someone wanting to restore a file that was backed up when the system was running on the other hardware. Has anyone configured DD VTLs to have multiple systems access the same tape pools? Can you share exactly how this is done?
