I just bought our first surface pro 4 last night. We are trying it out to replace a business Lenovo T450s and an iPad for certain traveling executives. So, a staff person would have one machine instead of two. We paid $1,830 plus $450 for Office. It's yet to be seen if they will really haul around the Surface in place of the iPad not to mention what they will do with their songs, tv shows, and movies in iTunes.

As for me, I haven't found anything to compare to the quality and ease-of-use of a Mac. I run Windows, Linux, and El Capitan on my Air 13" 10 hours a day. Macs are such a pleasure to use and so well made I can't imagine using a different machine. (Not sure how to develop iOS and MAC software without Xcode on a Mac.) DotNet development with Visual Studio 2015 works fine too.

I can buy the most powerful 15" mac pro with an awesome Retna display and run most operating systems simultaneously for the same price I would pay for a loaded Surface book ($3,200 without Office).

Kind regards,
Phil

Anyone here using a Surfacebook yet ?

You knew you were going to get the Windows haters response by
mentioning it on this list, didn't you?

My wife has been very happy with her Surface Pro, and she used to be
an exclusive Macbook Pro user. The Surface Book is a different animal,
one that I doubt either of us will get. For her, I think she's come to
prefer a somewhat smaller device; and for me, I'm extremely,
extremely, extremely picky about keyboards, touchpads, and screens.
It's entirely possible that there won't be any laptop that I can stand
by the time I'm ready to buy one. I'll be the relic who only uses
desktop computers and Kindles. (Well, I'm more-or-less that relic
already.)

I think if you are OK with the keyboard layout and can afford it, the
Surface Book is an attractive option.
