This looks like it could be good information. One caveat, perhaps - it is completely focused on the LUW version of DB2. I don't typically look to LUW information to learn how things work in the IBM i version.

One thing I'd say is, one might need to filter out some of the information here - things about licensing, for example, are not pertinent to the IBM i version, which is integrated into the OS on i, instead of being a separate application running in a particular OS.

After digging around a bit, I found this site - http://www-304.ibm.com/partnerworld/wps/servlet/ContentHandler/servers/enable/site/db2_porting_i.html - it is porting information for porting from several RDBMS' to DB2 on IBM i - one of the documents is about porting from DB2 on Linux, Unix, Windows to DB2 on IBM i - interesting, eh?

There's also a document there for porting from MySQL to DB2 on IBM i - so this should have directly useful information in this arena.

Another tidbit of information - there has been a MySQL storage engine that can use the IBM i database in MySQL - there are changes happening there, so I'm not sure of the current state, or which versions apply.
