The help (F1) plainly states "to wait for the system before the request is ended. The wait time specified for this parameter is ignored for read operations to database files."

So you'd have to change the file's delay wait at the file level or via OVRDBF's "Maximum record wait time . . . . WAITRCD" parameter.

I've changed my job to DFTWAIT(1) yet when I run a program it hangs on a "chain(e)" statement if I have that specific record locked on another session. We are on v7r1 tr9.
