The speed limit maybe hits only us on the other side of the world;
almost any customer here in Europe reports that limit per single FTP stream - compared to a Download Director (http) download which can get much better results using 9 streams.

So at least this has not to do anything with the TCP buffers for us,
it seems to be a limitation of a) IBM and b) the packet latency

nevertheless i recommend to change the TCP buffers to at least 64k

have had it that way for years.
