If yes, how?
On my Power 8 running IBM i 7.2, QMQRY does seem to support the use of
DDS ALIAS. Here is some DDS I just made:
A R ALIASR
A FIELD 10A ALIAS(LONGERFIELDNAME)
Did a regular CRTPF, then I used a QMQRY utility I have to do this:
buck/rs 'insert into buck.alias values(''val1'')'
buck/rs 'select longerfieldname from buck.alias'
I have to admit that I don't use the ALIAS DDS keyword at all; I define
new tables with SQL DDL, so I can have long table names as well as long
column names.
