I've run commercial software on open source operating systems.

On a more serious note, a brief look at this indicates it lets you cluster
your IBM i's and partition tables across them. So compare this to whatever
Microsoft SQL Server costs for as many cores as your box, and wave your
hand around the comparing Intel to Power core issue.

Just remember, if you make a relational database, you just have to sell it
for less than Oracle. Honestly, that's your price ceiling. Actually, if I
was IBM, I'd be trying to flaunt the fact that Codd was on IBMs payroll
when he described the relational model and SQL was the SEQUEL to IBMs
original RELATIONAL database product.
