Larry,

IBM is giving more and more examples of using partitioned tables. Even
for locally stored data. So, we may not yet "have" to do it; we "want" to
do it. We may not yet be in the area of the partition (aka member) is too
big and we "have" to have partitioning. However we do some serious
journal scraping. Our journals are jaw dropping huge compared to our data
libraries.

So if I want to partition pricing history (for example) by month and year
that's my business.
