there are lots of PTFs out for this command, you should look into them.
I think that SI56116 is the latest for V6.1.

PTF SI46941(superseded by above PTF) relates directly to the note parm and an attachment

APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-----------------------------------------------
SNDSMTPEMM command has incorrect output for the NOTE parameter.
It should be able to be set to *NONE if there is attachment.

Using the following command for the first time.

SNDSMTPEMM RCP((&USRMAIL)) SUBJECT(&SUBJ) +
NOTE(&NOTE) ATTACH((&BENEFITS *OCTET +
*TXT) (&EMPLOYEE *OCTET *TXT) (&COMBINED +
*OCTET *TXT)) SMIME(*ENCRYPT)

Command is found in the following libs
Opt Object Type Library Attribute Text
SNDSMTPEMM *CMD QSYS Send SMTP E-mail <--top
of libl
SNDSMTPEMM *CMD QTCP Send SMTP E-mail

I get the following error message.
Message ID . . . . . . : TCP5302

Date sent . . . . . . : 09/10/15 Time sent . . . . . . :
09:40:07

Message . . . . : Value for parameter 4 for API not valid.

Cause . . . . . : You passed an invalid value for parameter 4 on a call
to
API QtmsCreateSendEmail. This is not a supported parameter for this api.

Recovery . . . : Change the value passed to API QtmsCreateSendEmail

parameter 4 to a supported format and try the request again.

This page
://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_61/apis/qtmscreatesendem
ail.htm indicates that parm 4 is the note parm. I changed the value to
*NONE. And I get the same error message.

I have 3 data file members that I want to email. Ideally the files should
arrive as .csv format. File layout of each of the files is unique from the
other files. Eventually the end user will using this program to extract the
data from the system. She will review the data then forward the .csv files
for processing.

1) What is this error message really telling me? (How do I fix it?)
2) Is there a better way to do this.
