PowerHA evaluation

We are currently using iTERA for replicating an approx. 6TB system to our hot site for DR purposes and we are considering a 2nd CEC for HA to minimize downtime for PTF's etc. The options are down to a 3 node software replication (probably convert to Mimmix) or PowerHA with lun switching for HA in the primary site. We also have HDS storage in use at both sites for other platforms, and in use at the DR site for IBM i w/vios.

The alternatives that I see are 1) VIOS-> HDS at primary site for use with software replication. 2) IBM SVC's-> HDS at both sites for use with PowerHA.

My questions are: Has anyone done a similar comparison recently? Is anyone using IBM SVC's with PowerHA for i? OR, what is the most common storage platform used with PowerHA with i? DS8K seems overkill for most i shops.
