You could use the CPY command to copy to Windows shares via QNTC. Not always reliable because Windows authorities have to match for each user to IBM i.

You could use the CPY command to copy to Windows shares via NFS and Windows Services for Unix. A bit tricky to get all settings right, but works very reliably.

You could install FTP on those servers.

If you're open for something commercial, we have a Windows process automation product called Automate (http://www.helpsystems.com/automate) that can be easily scripted to pick up entries from IBM i or Windows shares and distribute to selected folders. You could also trigger the file transfers via Automate by writing instructions to a DB2 table that Automate watches and then moves the files. There's about 600 Windows automation functions available.

Feel free to download a demo or reach out and I'm happy to provide a demo if you want an overview on Automate.

subject: how to push a file to a cluster of win servers

Need to push a file (probably .xlsx or .csv) from ifs to a file share on a win server cluster. Ftp is not available.

Requirement for interactive Power i app to generate and push the file at a user's request. App up all day long.

Looking for method, documentation to show management, plus an understanding of the security implications.

Folders on Win Server determined by user and user selection. Files should be small - not megabytes.
