My understanding is that this data is held in #LIBRARY/QS36ENV (object type *S36). If this is expandable, I've haven't found a way to do it.

I've never had to manually add the 2-character S36 ID - the system always did it. But I went into CHGS36 to try, and the new (native) workstation names weren't even there.

I created a new device from an existing one, and the system handled it just fine - including automatically assigning the S36 ID.

At this point I've already found a way around this by modifying the original offending CL program. If there are any additional thoughts, please add them for the sake of the archive - although I'm guessing this stuff is old enough that no one else is using "bear skins and stone knives", to quote Spock. (Episode - "City on the Edge of Forever"?)
