I'm joining this thread late.
We've had this occur several times over the years.

PENCOR05 ASP 1 storage threshold has been exceeded. (C I R) PENCOR05

STRPASTHR, SNDNETSPLF, and a few other functions stopped working.
I went into SST, raised the threshold temporarily (96% or 97%_ so all functionality was restored.
We then did some immediate cleanup to free up disk space, (old joblogs, savfs, jrnrcv, etc)
All services resumed working.
Once the % was back under 95%, went back into SST, changed threshold back to 95%
No IPL was necessary.

There could be a lot to what you are saying. Basically, is it an interrupt from SST, or are the various products (like SNADS) doing some monitoring similar to DSPLOG ??PERIOD((*AVAIL *CURRENT) (*AVAIL *CURRENT))
??OUTPUT(*)
??MSGID(CPI0953 CPI0954 CPI1138 CPI1139)

Push vs Pull?

My understanding is that SNADS stops if the ASP threshold (from SST) is
reached, this is implemented in SNADS not in the Operating System..
The only OS action (I think) when the threshold is reached is the message
sent to QSYSOPR, QSYSMSG.
Other actions are implemented in the various functions, services, LPP
,etc...

So is that basically saying that all actions which used to be done by that

SST number are no longer performed and if you want such activities they
are done via the QSTGLOW* system values?

In years past the SST number would do things like shut down snads and
whatnot. Are you saying none of those actions are done at the SST number
anymore?
