So far I'm satisfied with Windows 10. Although they seem to have removed
(or changed the defaults) for a few things that I was used to with 8.

7 reminds me of Vista... both I couldn't stand. :)

Brad,

FWIW, I passed your link on to one of my former coworkers where we used
the Cisco VPN. Last night he installed Win 10 on one of his home machines
and this morning it did not recognize his network card... So this evening
he will at least have somewhere to start from. Thanks.

I will likely try to update a Win 7 virtual machine first, to see if I
like it.

I was hoping 10 would make my old laptop run better as I know 8 was much
better than 7 in my experience.

I'd throw linux on the old boy but I use it for other things too that
require windows. :)

Only 2 more PCs to go... they had Pro on them instead of Home so I had to
do a different iso/install method.

Long story short, if you're like me and use a VPN from Cisco (for Virtual
Loaners, et al) you'll want to remove it from your PC first or you'll
run
into issues.

I wrote about my experience with this here:

I know a lot of us use VPNs for work so I thought I would try and save

some

of us the trouble.
