Charles,
I looked at that function, and it seems to be what I want, but I am not
sure how to use it.
It appears to want a file on the IFS to read from (File Description as parm
for read).
Do you have an example as to how I would use it to read from a DB file?

Is there any method using FTP as the transmission mode to have
ofmailing
individual records being sent?
I would like to be able to do something like this:
create empty file on remote server
read record from my DB file on the i
put record to the remote file
if no error, update transmitted date/time in my DB record
repeat until all done
close file
