The likely default for batch [this branch of the thread coming from one about using SBMJOB USER(thePCuser)] is an uncompetitive Run Priority RUNPTY(50); despite the likely better memory characteristics of a batch run, the poor-priority might be impacting the ability of the copy-job to complete quickly and efficiently. Might be worthwhile to try the job with Work Management setup to effect a priority better than interactive to limit the effects of competition both with interactive work and especially other batch work [such as compiles] that might be running concurrent to the process moving the data.
