The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

The best way is to use logging software that automatically
archives/purges the logs when they reach a certain size/age threshold.
But if the software can't do that, you would monitor this the same way
you do any other disk space objects on the system... Run
RTVDSKINF/RTVDIRINF and their respective reports on a regular basis and
keep track of objects getting too large. There's nothing magical about
stmf vs PF vs anything else.

We had a situation in which a STMF carrying log entries apparently grew

Any suggestions on how to keep an eye on such things, so they don't take
anybody by surprise?
