If you're suggesting that CPYTOIMPF is slower than using the existing
RPG wrappers to POI (as demonstrated by that link), I would ask to see
numbers. Those wrappers are VERY slow.

If you're suggesting that "if you're going to roll your own, you might
as well roll an Excel writer, rather than a CSV writer", I would say
that depends. If CSV is sufficient for your needs, that's still going
to be easier to write and run faster.

I do agree that a decent programmer can roll their own CSV writer (in
almost any language of their choice) that would perform better than
CPYTOIMPF. (I think Rexx might be slower.)

But CPYTOIMPF might run fast enough, and you sure can't beat the
development/installation time.
