The 1000 days lifetime of a battery usually can be reached when the systems is up and running 24x7 - if the box is shutdown and later 
restarted (at night, for example) this amount can reduce dramatically.
Also - if you have cheap replacement batteries which are not fully
charged this can happen - the controllers do not charge the batteries.
