My latest attempt was similar except for I had: MFRTYPMDL(*WSCST) SYSDRVPGM(*HPPJLDRV) I didn't get to test it though because the device suffered mechanical failure, so it's now out for repair. I'll try mine and yours when it gets back. I'm sure a printer session would work, but there aren't any PC's where the machines will be going. If direct printing fails, plan B is to create the printer on a Windows server and use a remote OUTQ to a shared Windows printer. -----Original Message----- From: midrange [mailto:franz9000@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, May 15, 2015 12:25 AM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Generic text printer Justin, Try this - it's based on how some other manufacturers of nonstandard print equipment have worked. The sys driver program not sure of, but the key is HPT, *WSCSTNONE and the QWPDEFAULT CRTDEVPRT DEVD(XXXXXX) DEVCLS(*LAN) TYPE(3812) MODEL(1) LANATTACH(*IP) AF P(*N) PORT(xxxx) FONT(11) FORMFEED(*AUTOCUT) PARITY(*NONE) STOPBITS(1) TR ANSFORM(*YES) MFRTYPMDL(*WSCSTNONE) RMTLOCNAME('192.168.xxx.xxx') SYSDRVP GM(*IBMPJLDRV) WSCST(QSYS/QWPDEFAULT) The Mapica web brochure describes this as a XON, XOFF device, and also mentions a Win software piece. If above does not work, I would try a PC5250 print session, and use same key parms above. It's a shot.. Jim
