And I commented so at a recent user group meeting. We have at least three Windows based DNS servers within our corporation. At least one at every location of minimal importance. Kept in sync. So my IBM i has three of these in their DNS lookup (cfgtcp, 12, page down). These windows based DNS servers have the internet dns lookup capability. And, no, I don't snicker at the thought of relying upon "Windoze" to do anything reliably. Yes, I prefer my IBM i but Windows can do a few things at an acceptable level. I thought of using IBM i for serving DNS. But do I really want the mob with pitchforks, lanterns and shovels looking for me when they can't get DNS working because I brought the machine down for maintenance and someone forgot to load multiple DNS entries?
