I am not talking about individual lpar names, or anything you normally see
in IBM i (like in DSPNETA) but I'm talking about the whole system
containing all the lpars.

On my HMC I have these systems:
Server-8286-41A-SN214403V
Server-8286-41A-SN214405V
Server-8286-42A-SN21443BV
Each system contains multiple lpars. For example the 42A may have GDIHQ1,
GDISYS1, GDWEB1, MAIL1, etc; the 41A-3V may have GDIHQ2, GDISYS2, MAIL2
and the 41A-5V may have MAIL3, GDWEB3...
>From the command line on the HMC I can list by these names, or by
type-model*serial#. For example these commands both work:
lssyscfg -r lpar -m Server-8286-41A-SN214403V -F name,lpar_id,state
lssyscfg -r lpar -m 8286-41A*214403V -F name,lpar_id,state

The "Server..." names were from defaults. I am thinking of changing them
to something more meaningful. In my case RACK1, RACK2, RACK3. It's
actually really simple to do.
I can't think of any negative ramifications of doing so. "Call home"
won't confuse IBM, will it? Hopefully it's not keyed off of this.
I may have to adjust my downtime instructions.
