Hmm. I've managed to defy all conventional wisdom, and cram the
interpreter (based on a recursive-descent parser) of a simple scripting
language into a trigger program, and NOT have a significant performance
impact.
Then again, implementing a recursive-descent parser in ILE RPG is itself
an act of defiance against conventional wisdom (but if I remember right,
I've also done a recursive-descent parser in GWBASIC).
