If you really need a *link* then I don't know. I would not be
surprised if it's not possible.

If the main thing you are after is just reducing the number of steps,
you can create a script which will automate away most of it. (My
personal recommendation for your task is AutoHotkey.)

Are you able to do it in your shop?

Hard to tell. Our Navigator for i is deliberately crippled for most
users, including the programmers. I haven't seen any "5250 emulation"
(we're on 7.1 if that makes a difference). But in principle, if it
can be done by keystrokes and mouse clicks, it can be done by
AutoHotkey.
