Scott,
Try this command, replacing GPL with the library that contains the file you'd like to restore.
BRMS tracks at the library level, optional at the file level if you tell it to keep object detail, (not recommended).
QSYS/WRKMEDIBRM LIB(GPL)
GPL 2/07/15 18:42:53 *CUML 001089 43411 3/24/15
GPL 2/07/15 18:42:53 *CUML 001112 210 2/17/15
GPL 2/08/15 18:37:47 *CUML 001089 43542 3/25/15
GPL 2/08/15 18:37:47 *CUML 001112 342 2/18/15
7=Restore
F9=Recovery defaults (Make sure you set your defaults)
7=Specify object

Subject: "Work with Saved Objects " to restore a single object
I have a V5R4 system that I inherited that uses BRMS. I was looking to restore a single file and thought that BRMS would know the last time it was saved. (We do incremental backups throughout the week). So I went into:
Work with Saved Objects (WRKOBJBRM)
Type choices, press Enter.
Object . . . . . . . . . . . . . *ALL Name, *ALL
Library . . . . . . . . . . . *ALL Name, *ALL
But the only objects that come up are those in library QUSRBRM.
Opt Object Library Type Date Time Volume
QA1ACN QUSRBRM *FILE 1/11/15 3:25:12 xx
QA1ADV QUSRBRM *FILE 1/11/15 3:25:12 xx
QA1ADXR QUSRBRM *FILE 1/11/15 3:25:12 xx
QA1AHS QUSRBRM *FILE 1/11/15 3:25:12 xx
<snip>
Doesn't BRMS keep track of all libraries?
Scott
