Ok, so you decide you do not want to save PTF, OS virtual optical images
and any virtual tape images stored in your IFS. If so do NOT change the
individual entries with
CHGATR ATR(*ALWSAV) VALUE(*NO)
instead, change the directory.
Because whenever you load the image catalog it changes all the entries to
*NO and when you unload it all the entries will get changed to *YES
regardless of what state they were in before the load.
If you simply change the directory they are contained in to *ALWSAV *NO
then it won't even check the individual entries for whether or not they
can be saved.

Just an FYI.

Although I did have an image catalog loaded and mounted with a state of
*ALWSAV *YES, which IBM says just shouldn't happen. Unloading it and
reloading it did change it's state.
