We have pull out keyboards also. However we do not directly attach them
to our HMC's. We attach them via a KVM. This way the same slideout can
be used not only by our HMC but also by various PC servers in the room and
whatnot. That, and the huge benefit that the KVM has an IP interface so
you can get to it remotely. Granted, remote access to HMC can be done via
other methods but the ability to start that shared session there is sweet.
Be careful of used KVM's. We swapped out our KVM's because we were having
trouble accessing them with the latest Java. That, and clicking on the
right spot was as difficult as clicking over a 300 baud modem to remote
access to play Asteroids. Your aim is going to be a bit off.
