Subject: RE: IBM I Access Client Solutions problems with Java

FWIW, I'm running it on Win7 with Java 1.8.0_31. Mine works except for
the new Java broke the mouse wheel. I contacted IBM support, and
here's their response:

IBM i Access Client Solutions v1.1.3 is not yet fully compatible with
java 1.8.0_31
We are releasing a new version of the ACS client in February that has a
number of compatibility fixes for the new java version.
In the meantime, you could back-level to v1.7 of java.

Subject: IBM I Access Client Solutions problems with Java

One of my coworkers has the IBM I Access Client Solutions on his Win
8.1 laptop.
Yesterday he updated Java to 8 update 31.
Now he can no longer open this program. No errors just blips and is
gone. He has tried the 64 bit and the 32 bit versions with the same
results.

I updated the same java update yesterday on a win 7 machine but have
not had the same issues with the IBM I Access.

Anybody encountered this or have any ideas how to diagnose/fix the
issue.
