Yes - the IBM Support doc for printers from HP gave us all the MfrTypMdl's
to try.
I'm worried about the wireless Jet Direct and if supports (or needs a
settings change) to talk to Power i.

What do the Windows machines think the Jet Direct box is? I have users go
hit the test button to determine that. I sometimes also need to use a
customized *WSCST object.

Subject: hp m601 and jet direct ew2500 printing issues

Having issues printing to HP M601 (Enterprise LaserJet). It is in the IBM
list of supported printers.
Writer starts, spool goes to status PND.
This was a replacement of existing HP4050 LaserJet. Stopped working with
replacement, with same ip.
Have tried snmp or pjl driver, and the 3 recommended models.
Now we learn the ip is an external Jet Direct EW2500 (wireless). This may
be the only ew2500 we talk through, but that is unverified.
Other "non IBM Power i "servers (win and Linux) are printing to this
printer, but not Power i.
We talk to many other HP printers in offices across US in same network
(this one is Minneapolis), and we are talking to others in same building.
*AFPDS spooled file.
V7R1 and late 2013 cume (i know..)
Ping is disabled at the network level.
Any ideas?
