Upgraded three 8286's within the last week.
Upgraded from VIOS 2.2.3.3 to 2.2.3.4.
Upgraded from firmware SV810_054 and SV810_087 to SV810_101.
Both the machines that were at SV810_054 run SSD's.
The machine that was at SV810_087 run's spinning disks.
The 41A with SSD's at 054 lost a disk drive and activated a hot spare
during the upgrade.
The 42A with SSD's at 054 logged a disk error but recovered without
activating hot spare or anything.
The 41A with spinning disks that was at the higher level of 087 had no
such situation.
VIOS is not hosting disks. Just ethernet, CD and tape.

Just an FYI
