Thanks all. I don't know if the site ever had a functioning IT
department. I have emailed my sole contact several times. She may be out
for holidays or .....

She is not administrator. Nobody there knows much about the system. I'd
feel a little more comfortable if DASD was not 86.8 - 91.7. Not certain
how much space I will need for programs and export data files. System has
317,1G. And, a HUGE amount of deleted records. I don't believe what I
will need to do will use up too much space, but, the idea of pushing that
system over the edge, with no IBM support, and minimal support on site
doesn't seem like a good idea. Cache battery is long dead.

On subject of cache battery: It was replaced last week at my employer. It
was in warning. IBM called and wanted to get it done. CE brought no
tools. Initially, he was trying to push a clip holding the battery pack to
the board. Then, he just pushed the battery pack out of the clip.

Check your user profile.
The User Class value determines what options are displayed on IBM Menus.
This value is independent of any authority you may have.

The remote system I am to work with has V5R3. The people there are not

I
finally got access to the database files. I don't know if I have
another
authority issue or not.

Specifically, GO PROGRAM is radically different between V5R4 and V5R3.
On
the V5R3 system, I have no menu options at all. I do have a command
line.
That will be sufficient. But, I am wondering if there remains an
underlying authorization issue.

Can somebody tell me if I have another issue lurking that needs to be
addressed, or if this is something that inconsequential?
