RE: Poodle patches really "breaking" anything?

I was once arguing with a tech support person (not IBM) on how their
software was "not working" and after quite a bit of explaining the
shortcoming, she responded that "well it functions as designed". My
response was "Well then your design sucks" and I hung up.

That is a problem I admit, and the one place I do tend to use Firefox. What
puzzles me is how the fine folks in Austin that build the HMC code can't
seem to get the four big browsers to work on the HMC. Call in the
problem, and they will tell you it works as designed. Designed by whom? I
think they just don't want to admit they botched it up, again......

Jim, I've tried multiple times to move to Chrome, IE, and Safari. One of my
systems has 28 partitions and I can't get any browser except Firefox to show
all of them in the HMC. The bottom of the screen stops at 23 systems.
Scrolling down doesn't help. I'd like to think this is just me, anyone have
any ideas?

I am rapidly moving over to Chrome rather than FireFox. It's too big, too
slow, too buggy, and now becoming really annoying that it does not play in
the sandbox with others very well. When Chrome does not work, usually
Safari does.

My Firefox just updated yesterday to 34.0.5 and after that I could not
connect to HMC's running 7.7.5 nor could I connect to two different V7000
GUI's. Error message in all cases says

patches really causing headaches?

Granted, it was already broke due to the lax security, but what headaches

have been caused by the patches, if any? Any horror stories? If so, how

did you resolve it? For example:

- I'm running encrypted telnet and it all broke, and what you did to get

around it.

- I'm running Domino x.y.z and I had to ...

- I'm running WAS e.f.g and I had to ...

- I'm running sftp from Acme Coyote and I had to ...

and more of that genre.
