You would never believe it but Domino is the second largest email system
behind Outlook. It has many advantages over Outlook but Microsoft is much
better at marketing and, well.... It runs best on IBM i (but can run on
most anything) and can be clustered to provide zero downtime.

On IBM i, when you use BRMS there is save while active on the mail
databases. That's assuming you don't just back up on the clustered side.
Much easier to install and manage than Outlook and since it's running on
POWER with IBM i behind it, it's much easier to secure.

Does anyone use Domino anymore? I think I remember when all "as/400's"
came with a key because I messed around with it

Apparently the 'lack' of patching is causing us grief. Customers are
updating their web browsers and are unable to attach to our website.
Hoping this is the cure:

Not to feed the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" crowd but are poodle
patches really causing headaches?

Granted, it was already broke due to the lax security, but what
headaches have been caused by the patches, if any? Any horror
stories? If so, how did you resolve it? For example:
- I'm running encrypted telnet and it all broke, and what you did to
get around it.
- I'm running Domino x.y.z and I had to ...
- I'm running WAS e.f.g and I had to ...
- I'm running sftp from Acme Coyote and I had to ...
and more of that genre.
