How are you trying to do the update?

Are you using openquery? You should, that provides a pass-though of the
SQL statement...

I don't have an example of an update I've personally used, but found this
online
pdate openquery(QODBC, 'select "InvoiceLineDesc" from InvoiceLine WHERE
"TxnID" = '6130-1197786604' And "TxnLineID" = '7133-1197736106' ') SET
"InvoiceLineDesc" = 'New Desc 10001'

Has anyone been able to UPDATE/DELETE files on the iSeries via a Linked
Server in SQL Server 2008 R2?? I can read, I can INSERT, but not
DELETE/UPDATE

The issue seems to be with which Provider you are using with the Linked
Server & data sources etc. etc.

hours & hours spent at this point... cannot even "GOOGLE" an answer...
