The disks are 500 for 141GB, and about 1000 for 283GB. Pretty inexpensive if you have the slots.

You can get these even cheaper on the used market.

We have a native document management system. Way back when, it was cheaper to buy a separate Windows server to store the documents, than to add disks to our 810 iSeries. Fast forward to today. Is it still going to be cheaper to buy a Windows server than to add disks to our POWER7 720? Ballpark of 2 TB. This would have to be in addition to the drives we already have in the POWER system.
