You are right, of course. It has been a while since I have used TESTN, as
from some years now all my new files are created using SQL and, when I have
to write (with RPG) questionable data, I use the MONITOR..ENDMON group.

In fact, the first thing that came to mind was to propose to write a SQL
function that returned NULL if the number was in error, but I'm in a little
bit of a hurry today and thought that TESTN was a simple enough solution.
