Power 8 upgrade comparison

Since upgrading from a Power 6 with dozens of spinning disks to a Power 8
with all SSD's the guy who runs our Infor month end had this to say:

The first 8 months of 2014 had a 5.9 hour average total run time vs 3.3
for the two post-upgrade Month Ends.

He keeps detailed records of each step of month end.
He counts journal transactions against IIM and ITH and the post upgrade
month end closes have had more hits (therefore more transactions those
periods). So it's not like business is down. We're talking 1-2 million
transactions more per month.
