What version of SNMP are you specifying when creating the node in
Solarwinds? If there is a version mis-match Solarwinds won't tell you
anything. At least that was the trouble when I set things up a while
back.... I haven't done any more than basic "is the system up" monitoring
in SolarWinds as we use ABS Messaging for detailed monitoring so I can't
help with the MIB question.

Good luck!

Subject: IBM i - SNMP and Solarwinds
Sent by: "MIDRANGE-L" <midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

We just got Solarwinds installed and what to add our IBM i as one server
to monitor but Solarwinds does not get a reply. SNMP is set to autostart.
Community name has been verified. A previous SNMP MRTG server that we had
setup was able to get back info from the i. Does anyone have this working?
Redbooks in this are very old

And a related question. Does anyone know of a MIB for having SNMP report
some of the unique info available.

Thanks

Mike Cunningham
