As I have noted before, if that work being performed against the disks is part of some attempt to complete what should be an effective disk /clearing/ [ignoring multiple rewrites and differing patterns of data written] aiming to protect sensitive data from those who might have access to those physical disks after they leave the premises, then that attempt is seriously flawed; possibly with a great possibility of exposing what is proprietary information of the company and\or the clients and customers.
