I've been researching Docker.io <http://docker.io/>

I followed the hyperlinks in your last post, Aaron. Docker obviously
provides services which are way beyond the scope of IASPs. But I do
understand that IASPs offer some containment and isolation in the form of a
namespace (effectively) for IBM libraries and IFS directories.

I suppose that one might use IASPs in conjunction with IBM i subsystems and
memory pools to approximate some of the isolation found in Docker, but I
still see profound differences in what Docker seeks to support, which is an
operating environment, application distribution and deployment platform,
and a significant ecosystem.

With Docker, you are effectively packaging Linux / Apache / Applications
into a single container, where multiple instances of the container may be
loaded and running under a single Linux VM instance - yet provide network
and file-system isolation for each running instance.
