Mike,

We're excited to a have nearly 30 students and faculty at the upcoming
Fall Conference in Indianapolis. We are currently planning a special
introductory session, led by Jim Buck and other volunteers, the first day
of the conference to acclimate the students and faculty to the conference,
along with recommendations on how to maximize their time at the
conference.

Additionally, we are also planning on having a Meet and Greet with
students, volunteers, and Expo vendors on Tuesday so that students can
take advantage of the networking opportunities at the conference. This is
great way to informally learn about the industry, meet key people within
this community, and create contacts for the future.

While there is no formal YIPs session planned, as Jim said, many of the
key volunteers who are involved with YIPs will be at the conference, so
the opportunity to meet and chat with them will still be there. If you
have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thanks.

I don't think there is anything specific for the YIPs but that does not
mean
one cannot be conjured up. I think the COMMON board member responsible
for
the YIPs monitors this list so I'll guess that might be picked up.

In any case I know most if not all the board will be there, and a number
of
the best speakers as well. We should arrange an informal get together
with
them around a dinner. (I hate to ask but are the students 21+? If not we
adjust to a suitable location)

Do let the students know not to be shy about walking up to a speaker or
industry luminary, stick out their hand, say hello, and ask a question.
Everyone I know loves it when they do and really do want to hear from
them.

We are going to have two faculty and 6 students from the college I work at
attending COMMON in Indianapolis. This will be the first time attendance
for
all of them. I was thinking getting the students in touch with the Young I
Professionals would be good for them. Does anyone know if the YIP group
has
any sessions of events planned for this COMMON?

Thanks
